Yeast Glucose Chloramphenicol Agar (YGC Agar) is a selective culture medium widely used for the isolation and enumeration of yeasts and molds, particularly in dairy products. It is recommended by the International Dairy Federation (IDF) and the American Public Health Association (APHA) for microbiological analysis of milk and milk-derived products.
For fungi cultural characteristics observed after an incubation at 25-30°C for 2-7 days. For bacteria cultural characteristics are observed after incubation at 35-37°C for 18-24 hours.
